Time for another Sunday edition of The Good Stuff. Since summer break has started things are a little crazy around my house not allowing me quite as much time to cruise the web as I would like. Nonetheless here is my round up for the week.
P.S. If you only click on one of these, dear photograph, don’t miss it.
The Accidental Asshole: How Your Annoying People and Do Something About It
Whether you want to admit it or not, you might annoy people. It might not be often, but face it, you hang around someone long enough there is going to be something you do that gets under that person’s skin. Read the story of how one guy took an anonymous survey of what his friends, colleagues and family found annoying. How many of us would have the guts to do the same?
Twelve of the Most Baffling Airplane Passengers I’ve Encountered
I spent last weekend traveling a good bit. So when I came across this recently I couldn’t help but laugh. One, ten and eleven are my favorites, what are yours?
Ok seriously, this site is completely awesome. It is hard to stop looking at it. If you are anything like me you will start envisioning old family photos that you could re-enact and how happy it would make your Mom.
Koubachi – For Planet Lovers Who Are Accidental Planet Murderers
So a friend of mine is moving and she so kindly gave me a lot of her plants she couldn’t take with her. I am so excited about having all these beautiful new plants in my home, but simultaneously very concerned. I get so pumped about plants whenever I get them, it just turns out I am not good at plants. I have a “black thumb” if you will. Thank goodness my track record is better with kids. Anyway, I was thinking as I was WATERING MY NEW PLANTS, “I just need an app to tell me when to water these”! Turns out someone (who clearly sucks at gardening) already came up with that app.
$100 Startup – Mixergy Interview with Chris Guillebeau
While others have fallen deep into the Shades of Grey books, I (geek alert) am deeply in love with “The $100 Startup”. I do dig on most “business-y” type books, but this one really caught my eye. It is a great balance of inspirational stories with practical and applicable advice. I linked you to Mixergy’s Master’s Course with Chris Gillebeau. The Mixergy Master’s Courses are top notch, but if you want to get into “$The 100 Startup” on the cheap pick up the $12 kindle version. It is worth every penny.
Man on Fire – Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
This song struck a chord with me when I first heard it a couple weeks ago. My husband and I felt thought it really reminded us of Johnny and June. I searched the internet for a full version since the album did not come out until this week. Now the video is out and it doesn’t disappoint. It is different, but cool. Give it until 3:30, it all come together.
Thanks for checking in. Have a kick ass week.
