This weekend I was in a very small town, San Angelo, Texas. While I was there I happened to see this:
How clever is that? I mean floral shops tend to earn their reputation based on the freshness of their flowers and the quality of their arrangements. But this shop in a small Texas town saw another opportunity. They turned their delivery truck into an ambulance. They send the message that your order is their emergency. Whether it is an order for sympathy, getting out of the doghouse or a new baby your delivery is not just urgent it is an EMERGENCY. They are ready to respond. The truck is completed with slogans like “911 of LOVE”, “Happiness – Stat” and “Love-N-Motion.” They are even clever enough to get a number with 911 in it.
There are thousands of floral companies around this country and I have never seen one take this approach before. Is there an opportunity like this in your business? Take a minute and think through the entire process from development to delivery of your product and see if there is a place to do something unique.
